PAST EVENTS
Damian Borchok-CEO Interbrand Australia
This is the first time AGSM will be participating and vying for the prize in this MIT competition. This is an online simulation game using Littlefield’s factory simulation technology. This is an annual event held by MIT with a total prize money of USD 4500. Last year, 64 teams from top business schools from all over the world participated in Opsimcom.
Speaker Events
We plan to conduct speaker events with several keynote speakers from industry. Subject areas under consideration for 2008 are as follows:
* Private Label and its future in the Australian market
* Supply chain innovation and technology
* Asia: supplier strategy and expansion opportunity
Breakfast meetings
It is intended to run a series of breakfast meetings with managers in the sector. We are also exploring opportunities to undertake a number of site visits during the year.

Sam Christou, Head of New Business Development (Beverages) in Nestle Australia discussed Nestle’s corporate branding and how Nestle has evolved from a food & beverage comapny to a nutrition, health and wealthness company through marketing communications, acquisitions and various marketing tools.
FMCG Seminar on Industry overview and new product development
John McLoughlin, Director from Real World Marketing Consulting, addressed students on Australia’s FMCG industry overview and recent trend of New Product Development in retail markets.
Acquisition & Retention guest speaker event
Ruth P. Stevens, Director of eMarketing Strategy. Ruth discussed the building blocks for effective customer acquisition and retention (B2C and B2B), what’s new in internet marketing, and meeting the challenge of measurement in complex and multi-touch marketing environments.
